Happy Hour Restrictions in Ilinois End with Rauner Signature on Bill

Jacksonville area bars – and those throughout Illinois – will be able to offer “Happy Hour” promotions again, following the signing of a new law on Wednesday.

The bill signed into law by Governor Bruce Rauner allows establishments to offer specials – except for “Two for One” or other volume offers – during certain times of the day and for up to fifteen hours per week. The law allows “Happy Hour” for up to four consecutive hours per day.

Effective immediately, the new law also calls for alcohol servers to complete training about responsible alcohol service.
