Personal information of a number of employees at two different state correctional facilities has been inadvertently transmitted.
That’s according to a letter Illinois Department of Corrections acting director Gladyse Taylor wrote to leaders of both caucuses of the General Assembly.
The personal information of staff at Lawrence and Dixon Correctional Centers was transmitted pursuant to a Freedom of Information Act request and included not just names of employees and their rank and salary, but also their Social Security numbers.
All employees impacted have been notified and an investigation into the breach is ongoing.
