Rauner Reintroduces Parts of Turnaround Agenda as Package Deal in Budget Impasse

Governor Bruce Rauner says that he wants state legislators to once again consider parts of his Turnaround Agenda as a part of the budget process.

Rauner on Monday announced a push for a new comprehensive proposal that packages a property tax freeze, local control of collective bargaining rights, workers compensation reform, school funding, and Chicago Public Schools pension relief together.

Rauner says that the plan is needed in order to make Illinois more competitive.

The Turnaround Agenda has been a sticking point in the budget stalemate, now in Day #49 of the new fiscal year.
