An Illinois bed-and-breakfast has been ordered to pay more than $80,000 in fees and fines for refusing to allow a same-sex couple to use its facilities.
The American Civil Liberties Union says Timber Creek Bed and Breakfast in Paxton had advertised its facilities to celebrate civil weddings and other events.
But, when a gay couple sought to book the location, the owners turned them down, calling homosexuality immoral.
In addition to the penalties, the bed-and-breakfast was ordered to allow the couple to use their facilities for a celebration event within the next year.
