Pohlman Leads Morgan County Finishers at Half-Marathon

David Pohlman of Jacksonville was the top overall finisher from Morgan County at this weekend’s Lincoln Presidential Half-Marathon.

Pohlman, 48, finished 55th overall in a field of 1,535 runners, and completed the 13.1 mile course in 1:36:10, an average pace of 7:21 per mile. In the M45-49 age group, Pohlman finished 7th.

Jacksonville’s Adam Cisne was also a top ten finisher in his age group, turning in a time of 1:40:52, good for 7th in the M30-34 bracket. Other area competitors in Cisne’s age group included Bryce McCormick of Chapin, who finished in 3:12:17, and My Social Jacksonville’s Colby Huff, who was unable to complete the course after an early injury, withdrawing at the ten-mile mark.

Ashley Lewis of Jacksonville was the top area female competitor, finishing 9th in the F30-34 age group and 126th overall, with a time of 1:43:02. Courtney McCormick of Jacksonville was the other Morgan County finisher in the F30-34 age group.

Abby West of Jacksonville finished 10th overall in the F25-29 age group, with a time of 1:48:29. Madeline Jackson of Jacksonville finished about ninety seconds behind West, at 1:49:51, good for 12th in the age group. Kaitlin Kurilla of Jacksonville also finished the race in the F25-29 group.

With a time of 1:49:26, Chase Davis of Jacksonville was the top area finisher in the M25-29 age group, good for 24th in the age bracket.

Our area’s best age group finisher was Amy Martin of Murrayville, who finished 6th in the F20-24 group, turning in a time of 1:50:51, eighteen minutes behind the group’s winner.

Other area finishers in the annual Spring race beginning and ending in downtown Springfield included Jeff Andrews, Tracy Ptacek, Gloria Rondeau, Andrew Bergschneider, Chad Antle, Kristy Shillings, Amanda Tomhave, Becky McClellan, Khara Koffel, Phil McCarty, James Alexander, Jonathan Braner, Kelley McCormick, and Anthony McCormick, all of Jacksonville,
