Federal Appeals Court Says No Right to Carry Concealed Weapons in Public

A federal appellate court has ruled in favor of a California law that restricts the carrying of concealed weapons in public.

In a case from San Diego County, law enforcement denied permits to people seeking concealed carry permits unless they could show good cause for such a permit, such as a danger from a specific attacker.

A previous lower court ruling had said those restrictions weren’t permissible, but a ruling this week restores them and sets up a potential U.S. Supreme Court challenge under the 2nd Amendment.
